Removal of multiple genital warts with CO2 laser (11–20 lesions)
We remind you that independent interpretation of the results is unacceptable, the information provided below is for reference purposes only.
CO2 laser removal of multiple genital condylomas is a minimally invasive medical procedure used for the treatment of benign cutaneous and mucosal lesions caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Condylomas may appear as single or multiple lesions located in the genital, perineal, or perianal areas.
The CO2 laser emits energy in the infrared spectrum, which is absorbed by water in the tissues, leading to precise vaporization of affected cells. This method allows selective destruction of pathological lesions with minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue and good cosmetic outcomes.
Indications
- presence of multiple genital condylomas (1–10 lesions)
- localization in the external genital, perineal, or perianal area
- persistent or recurrent disease
- lack of response to topical medical treatment
- rapid growth or spread of lesions
- medical or aesthetic indication for removal
- preparation for other medical procedures in the affected area
Procedure / duration
- examination and assessment of the affected area
- cleansing and antiseptic preparation of the skin
- local anesthesia if required
- precise CO2 laser ablation of lesions
- antiseptic treatment of the area
- formation of small crusts with subsequent healing
Duration: approximately 20–40 minutes depending on the number and size of lesions
Contraindications
- active skin infections in the treatment area (bacterial, fungal, viral)
- active genital herpes
- uncontrolled coagulation disorders
- pregnancy (depending on medical assessment)
- uncontrolled use of anticoagulants
- severe decompensated systemic diseases
- suspicion of malignant lesions (requires further evaluation)
Recovery / restrictions
- formation of crusts that spontaneously fall off within several days
- avoidance of sexual intercourse until complete healing
- avoidance of sauna, swimming pools, and hot baths for 7–10 days
- maintenance of proper hygiene and use of recommended antiseptics
- avoidance of trauma to the treated area
- possible mild temporary burning or discomfort
Advantages
- high precision of laser action
- minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue
- low risk of bleeding
- fast healing
- good cosmetic outcome
- outpatient procedure without hospitalization
- low recurrence rate compared to conventional methods

IMPORTANT!
It is crucial to remember that the information provided in this section is not intended for self-diagnosis or self-treatment. If you experience pain or worsening symptoms, it is essential to consult a doctor for proper diagnostic testing. Only a qualified healthcare professional can make an accurate diagnosis and determine the appropriate treatment. To ensure the most accurate and consistent evaluation of test results, it is recommended to have them performed at the same laboratory. This is because different laboratories may use varying methods and units of measurement for similar tests.
Preparation:
- discontinuation of anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant drugs 7–10 days prior (as recommended by physician)
- treatment of active infections before the procedure
- avoidance of sexual contact 2–3 days before the procedure
- avoidance of vaginal creams and spermicides prior to the procedure
- proper local hygiene
- hair removal in the treatment area 1–2 days before the procedure if necessary
